Wilanów is one of the southern districts of Warsaw. Formerly, it was associated with the royal residence, today rather with Miasteczko Wilanów – an estate, which is supposed to be the twenty-first-century project of an ideal city, which satisfies all the needs of its inhabitants.

Wilanów has been part of Warsaw since 1951. However, a sub-urban character of this district has been kept for a long time and it has been one of the least populated parts of the capital city.  In the area of Wilanów, there are four public primary schools, two middle schools, Comprehensive Secondary School named after Stanisław Kostka as well as Private Polish Secondary School operating under the supervision of the above mentioned Comprehensive Secondary School. Wilanów also has Polish-English private school called Kid's Academy as well as the prestigious, Polish-German School of Meetings and Dialogue named after Willy Brandt. There is no shortage of private kindergartens and crèches, also with original educational programs.
